Nitrous oxide N2O is a slightly sweet colorless odorless narcotic gas at room temperature and pressure, and is colorless after liquefaction. The physical properties are very similar to CO2. Mainly used in dentistry, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology anesthetic, leak detection, refrigerant, accelerant, preservative, chemical raw materials, atomic absorption spectrum gas, semiconductor manufacturing for balance gas, oxidation, chemical vapor deposition, standard gas, medical gas, smoke spray agent, vacuum and pressure leak detection.

Laughing gas N2O is a combustibles gas like oxygen, so it should be kept away from combustibles such as oil and away from heat sources and fire. When the N2O cylinder leaks, personnel in the contaminated area should be evacuated to the upper wind quickly and isolated until the gas dissipates. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained breathing apparatus and wear appropriate work clothes. Reasonable ventilation, do not make the leakage and combustible substances (wood, paper, oil, etc.) contact, cut off the air source, and then pump (indoor) or strong ventilation (outdoor). Leaking N2O cylinders cannot be used again and are subject to technical treatment to remove any remaining gas.
